Vimal got Engaged

Mr Vimal Balachandran of K6 got engaged to Sreeja, from Perumbbaavoor.

She also working in the IT field(Allianz Cornhil, Technopark) luckily nothing to do with Tibco.

Since Vimal's parents very well know him, and the girl and boy working in the same building,

they made the engagement date in advance. That was in 8 Sept 2011.

First Twins

Its first time that some one in k6 has delivered baby girl twins. That lucky mother is none other than Sindhu......

Endorsed Directory Mechanism

This mechanism in java is used when one version of a jar is being loaded from the boot strap class loader where as you need to load some other version of the same jar which is available in your lib folder.

For example the error can be like this:

Here jaxb-impl2.0 is loaded even though you are having the verion 2.1 in your lib.

At this moment we you endorsed mechanism
This is very easy. Just create a folder named 'endorsed' and put this 2.1 versioned jar(the jar file which you want to get loaded) inside this endorsed folder and place this endorsed folder inside lib of jre which will be inside jdk.

As far as possible use latest version of jdk1.6(means jdk 1.6.18 not jdk1.6.0)

Recipe of Unakka Chemmeen thoran by Preetha

For that just dry fry unakka chemmen in a pan..just to make it crisp….now remove its head and wash 3-4 time thoroughly in water.

Once it is clean……..cook it with some water ,salt and a little turmeric powder.

To another pan… coconut oilil kaduku pottikukaa…..add curry leaves…….sliced small onions,green chilly and a little tomotto(optional) sauté it well.

Grind coconut+ chilly powder+ perum jeerakam + ginger+ garlic …not to fine paste….

Once the onion and all are done add the coconut mix and sauté it well…

Once the dry prawns are cooked well just mix the coconut onion cooked masala to it and stir well….

Unakka chemmen thoran ready !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Oolan recipe by Preetha

Take 1 medium sized tender yellow pumkin (Mathanga) .Peel the skin off the pumpkin…cut it into medium sized pieces. Cook 1 cup red payar(van payar) in a cooker till it is done….

To a pan pour some water + sliced pumpkin + 7-8 splitted green chillies + curry leaves +salt to taste..cover it and cook for some time…

When it starts boiling..half cooked….add the cooked payar with its retained water….and cook well till the water level is reduced well..

Once it is cooked well…reduce the flame and add 1-2 cup of thick coconut milk…don’t allow to boil …just keep it in low flame..

At last add 1-2 spoon of plain coconut oil into it…and close it…

Aswathy Vasanth bought new car. Its i10.... Sleek blue color...
It is in this new car that they came to K6 anniversary celebrations.

K6ian went to IBS

Deepu has joined IBS on this 22 Nov, 2010 after resigning from UST.

According to him, the atmosphere is entirely different from UST and there are lot of things to study technically challenging. He will be starting his work in web service.

How to open mutiple Netbeans simultaneously

Unless we give the check box checked in the pop up when eclipse IDE is opened, the same icon can be used for opening various workspaces at a time. But this is not possible in the case of Netbeans IDE.
To over come this, follow below mentioned steps:
1) Create a separate folder (say F:\Workspaces\nbuserdir2)
2) Right click the net beans icon and take properties
3) Including the double quotes, your existing value will be like this "F:\InstalledNetBeans6.8\NetBeans 6.8\bin\netbeans.exe"
4) Add this line also to it. --userdir F:\Workspaces\nbuserdir2
5) Now the target will look like this:
"F:\InstalledNetBeans6.8\NetBeans 6.8\bin\netbeans.exe" --userdir F:\Workspaces\nbuserdir2
6) Click apply
7) Click OK

4th Anniversary Celebration Report

After fine tuning of the plan, everyone has sticked to the plan. The challenge was to overcome the limited number of cars for transportation and the limited time we have. There were many people who came to Trivandrum only to participate in the function. Preetha came from Chennai and reached in the morning. Sony and Teena came from kochi. All girls from the Technopark side was taken care by Jyothish. Vineesh was suffering from conjunctivitis. Bad luck for him. Vimal and Jose came in bike. Deepu collected all those who were in the city side.
Anyhow every one came to Zoo but it was very late. So we kept wandering here and there in the Museum and talking asking for updates from everyone. Aswathy and Vasanth came to zoo directly form their home. There were photo sessions as well.
Next was our main item of the day ie. Buffet @ S P Grand Days Hotel. From zoo everyone reached SPG hotel. We had to make little bit hurry as we didn't want to skip the schedule. Here we had various dishes and all.

Without any delay, we moved to our next program. That was for watching the film 'cocktail' at Ajantha theatre. The film was good but little bit dragging. It is a copied version of an English film also.

After watching film, aswathy, vasanth, vimal and jose went back to home. Rest of the 11 people went to Veli beach. Took photos and had chit chat. At sharp 6'O clock it rained we decided to disperse.

Over all, the celebration ended smoothly and gave memorable time.

First father in K6

Deepu has become first father in K6 group on 1o May, 2010 when Ambily delivered Shreya. Three of them are happy. Also very recently Shreya's chooroonu function is done at Aattukaal Bhagavathi Temple.

K6ians went to visit Raizel

K6ians went to see Raizel at Thrissur home. K6 team had to clear many hurdles to reach destination. Vimal and Vineesh missed janashathabdi train. So they had to catch the next train which ended up in delay by 4hours.



Chachu came to railway station with his car to pick up the delayed team.
Silu was happy to see all as they came on the anniversary day of K6, 30th October.

Diwali Special Dish - Chicken Curry

This is Preetha's Diwali special dish - Chicken Curry

Take chicken pieces in a bowl…

To it add

1. chilly powder- 2 or 3 spoon……as much you want spicy 

2. garam masala – kurachu(1 sp)

3. Salt- to taste

4. Red color – for appearance

5. One EGG

6. Curd – 1 spoon

7. Lemon – ½ portion for juice…

8. One spoon for corn flour or rice flour for some crispiness 

9. Ginger + garlic + onion – grind it to paste. 3-4 small onion will give more taste than one big onion :) Ginger,garlic oru kanakinedukkam….depending upon how much spicy you need


Mix everything well with the chicken pieces….and keep it for 30 mins….and fry it in coconut oil(for more taste) or any other oil

Recipe for Ellunda by Preetha

Roast the sesame seeds in a dry pan until they start to burst.
In a separate vessel, make syrup out of jaggery, by heating it.
The syrup should become thick enough, so that when you add a drop of it in a vessel of water, it should solidify immediately.
When the syrup reaches this stage remove from the stove and add it to the sesame seeds.
When the temperature cools down to a state where the hand can withstand the heat.
Grease the hand with either rice flour or ghee.
Make the sesame into small even sized balls using the hand.

K6ian went to CTS

Hari has resigned from UST and joined CTS, Coimbaatore on 27th September.
There he is in insurance domain testing. Enjoying the atmosphere with less work pressure. Technical work is less but process is more. He said "First day, I took 3 hrs to test and 5 hrs to update the details in QC."

There are malayalees i the office but they also speak tamil. So it is difficult to distinguish.

Our Lal has gone to onsite(US) for a long term assignment from UST on 17th september, 2010. Every one went to airport for the sent off. It is reported that Lal was at the brim of crying state when he said last bye-bye to his friends and relatives.
